HGV Class 1 Day Driver

Job Title: HGV Class 1 Day Driver (Chichester)

Type: Temporary to Permanent

Pay Rate: £36,400-£39,000 per annum

Location: Chichester

Start Date: Immediate

Are you an experienced Class 1 Day Driver with an HGV/LGV Category C+E licence? We are recruiting for a well-established customer in Chichester, being responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and adherence to all safety regulations

Requirements:

• Valid HGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years’ commercial driving experience.
• Strong understanding of road safety, compliance, and transport regulations.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
• Ability to work independently, take responsibility, and remain reliable during long shifts.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, service, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles across designated delivery routes.
• Carry out daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness, safety, and legal compliance.
• Load, unload, and secure goods appropriately for transportation.
• Deliver goods efficiently and on time while providing excellent customer service.
• Complete all delivery paperwork, vehicle logs, and related documentation accurately.
• Comply with all road traffic laws, company procedures, and health and safety requirements.
• Maintain the cleanliness and overall condition of assigned vehicles.
• Communicate effectively with the logistics team, dispatch, and customers regarding schedules, delays, or issues.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.
